It’s easy to get the impression when doom-scrolling that Trump is winning. But that impression is mistaken. In many respects, Trump 2.0 is failing. And like most bullies, when confronted, Trump is prone to back down quickly: so these failures and losses will tend to snowball. Trump is too much of a narcissist to risk repeated ignominy. So all of these forms of resistance and restoration of something vaguely resembling justice cannot be overestimated in their importance. Some of them are huge victories, period, even if they would be easy to miss in the constantly churning news cycle. And they all represent major embarrassments for the Trump administration.
